Plants
Selection of plants we're trialling and have spares to share. We haven't grown these out before so don't have any flowers photos just yet.
Available Now:
AGASTACHE rupestris - Sunset Hyssop
I'm trialling as many agastache as I can find, I love the scent of their foliage (sweet & minty), Sunsett Hyssop has incredible smokey salmony orange & dusty purple flowers.
CALAMINTHA nepeta
Shorter, compact bushy perennial with white or blue flowers.
CAMPANULA takesimana - Flore Plena Mix
Campanula takesimana has become my favourite ground cover for shady areas, with the added bonus of incredible flowers in early summer. This new variety has double flowers which I've never seen before, very excited to add to our collection. Our regular takesimana plants took a couple years to settle in before they really pumped out tall chunky stems.
CAMPANULA lactiflora
I love campanulas so we're expanding our collection, we haven't grown too many upright flowering campanulas yet so I'm excited to meet their big chunky lilac-blue flowers. They may take a couple years to settle in and flower, as other campanulas sometimes do.
COREOPSIS rosea
We're a couple flowers into these tiny dainty unbelievably cute pink daisy-like flowers! Absolutely cannot wait until next summer when they're all flowering and the bees are in a frenzy over them!
GERANIUM pratense - Dark Reiter + GERANIUM sanguineum var. striatum - Vision Light Pink
I'm delving into the world of geraniums this season, and I'm excited to start with these two! Dark Reiter has lovely dark foliage (I'm a total sucker for anything with dark foliage) with cool purple flowers, and Vision Light Pink has lovely soft pink flowers on green foliage.
LYCHNIS flos-cuculi - White Robin
We're one flower in on these whimsical (or flimsical according to my mum if that's even a word?) white airy flowers, and I cannot wait to see them en masse!
LYCHNIS viscaria - Alba Snowbird + LYCHNIS viscaria - atropurpurea
We have so many perennials in the works, and I'm still learning their names, so some are just letters with no visuals locked in my head in anticipation, this was one of those. They were were just very happy looking plants that past me thought I should be growing until I just googled them again just now, and I have to say past me was onto something as I got a little excited at was unexpectedly coming our way next season! Alba Snowbird looks absolutely dreamy clouds of white, while atropurpurea has striking dark stems with magenta flowers.
NEPETA tuberosa
Something a little different for me, but I'm trialling a few other similar species so I'm trialling this long purple spired one while I'm at it this year.
PENSTEMON ovatus
I'm definitely getting more and more obsessed with penstemons, and also finding myself embracing more sky blues in the field - so this blue/mauve penstemon totally had my name on it!
RATIBIDA columnifera - Red Midget
We've been spoilt with the odd flowers so far, and I'm completely obsessed! Totally cannot wait to see the plants full size and in full flush!
RUDBECKIA occidentalis
I'm intrigued to meet this textural flower in person, it's all cone and no petals.
SCABIOSA columbria
We've had a couple flowers, and I'm very excited to see how this plant continues to grow, to me it feels like a lilac blue version of Scabiosa ochroleuca 'Moon Dance' which I absolutely love (the cutest most adorable flowers and seedheads!).
SILENE caroliniana
Groundcover bright mid pink silene.
SILENE dioica
I'm pretty sure this has to have been the species of silene I spied in the wild a few years ago. I didn't know what it was but I absolutely loved it! Silene in all its wispy airy glory, with dark buds and magenta flowers.
ACHILLEA millefolium - Cassis + ACHILLEA millefolium - Cerise Queen
I've only grown mixes of Achillea before but do like the deep cerise in the berries mix so I'm trialling these similar-ish two to see which one I like better.
