ANEMONE - Salmone Tigrato

Note, the anemone corms this year are noticeably smaller than years past. MPI changed the import rules (which has effectively made it impossible to import the corms from Italy as we usually have done). We have however grown the corms from seeds ourselves this season. This was our first ever attempt to do so, and the corms have mostly ended up being smaller than normal.

Whilst of course we wish the corms were bigger, we have no doubt whatsoever that they will still grow and flower like normal for you. The only thing it really changes is they might be touch slower right out of the gate, but once they're up and growing they do tend to catch up in no time.

The corms we germination tested before selling are doing really well, and now about 2 months later we can barely even tell the difference between the plants from our smaller, slower out of the gate corms compared to the plants from some larger usual corms we had left over from last years imports.

However in saying all of that, if corm size is really important to you, then unfortunately our corms this year probably aren't for you.

Salmone Tigrato is an exciting new anemone from our trials last year. We didn't end up giving it a fair trial (we neglected that bed a little too much - even we make easily avoidable growing mishaps :) so we're excited to give it the proper pampered treatment it deserves this season (and get some better photos in the process).

In the spirit of other Tigre anemones, every flower is an uniquely coloured bicolour, with these Salmone Tigrato bringing shades of coral salmon and pale blush whites. My favourite part is definitely their silvery centre, which isn't that common in anemones (I'm fairly sure Edge Bianco is the only other variety I've grown that is predominantly silver centred).
