I'm excited to finally share all my favourite cut-flower Italian Ranunulus (& the French Amandine) varieties with you this coming autumn!
These specialty cut-flower varieties have been made rather difficult to source and grow here in NZ as previously they were always grown from imported corms (bulbs), but after MPI essentially banned imports from all the countries that produced all the best varieties, we've been left high and dry. But they are soo beautiful so I had to find a way to have them in my life so after a lot of research I've discovered it's possible to import and grow them from seed! Albeit there's next to no information out there as no other country has to jump through these crazy hoops to get their hands on these varieties, so it's been a lot of trial and error and jumping in the deep oh so blind. But they are showing great promise and so I'm now ready to start sharing these special varieties with all my fellow flower lovers!
Because seeds are a bit of mission to germinate and nurse along, we're offering them as plants so you can skip all the hard work starting them. We'll have them available in June-ish (along with some of the giant Italian Colibri Poppy plants!).
