SAPONARIA VACCARIA

Incredibly productive wispy, pink, gypsophila-like flowers.

APPROX 40 SEEDS

When to Sow:
Autumn to Late Winter

How to Sow:
Direct Sow (or Transplant without disturbing roots)

Light & Cover Requirements:
COVER (with vermiculite)

Ideal Temperature:
Low (approx 17°C)

Germination Speed:
Normal (7–14 days)

Plants flush all at once, so sow successions about 3 weeks apart for continual harvests. Earlier sown plantings will produce taller chunkier plants than later sown plantings.

Plant Type:
Hardy Annual

Ideal Location:
Full Sun / Partial Shade

Spacing:
10–20cm

Height:
70-120cm

Pinching plants when they are about 15cm tall is recommended to help produce more useable stems. By default plants will produce incredibly chunky productive singles (that do have useable side shoots, but pinching helps make them even more useable).

Support of some sort is recommended, but too high netting can make it a challenge to harvest. We've found a lower knee high netting and the corralling works best.
