Echinacea are typically shorter in their first year, and taller in their second year.

Echinacea hate wet feet, be sure to plant where they have fantastic drainage, but they can be a little temperamental at sticking around for the long haul, so it's worth starting new plants every couple or so years, to patch any gaps as needed - or just so you can grow even more as they really are a delightfully happy flower!.
