Almost Autumn

It's officially autumn on Thursday and the field has started to fade looking very battered & tired. The storms this month have really fast-forwarded the end of the season, not letting me coax on my last plantings for as long as I'd hoped. For the most part it does feel like the end of the season for me, I might have enough for a few more small weeks of HokoLoko, but otherwise it's time to start working on next season.

Nevertheless I've learnt so much in a short space of time, so things should be steadily improving from next season onwards. Though it will probably take me a few seasons to really feel like I've got things down & reliable, but the journey has began!

The Potomac Lavender Snapdragons hold so much promise (for next season), I'm in love with their colour!

Gita broke my new albeit cheap tunnelhouse, back to the drawing board for the much needed rain protection for next season...

The Snapdragons seem to constantly cop it the worst in these storms, but if it wasn't the storms bringing about their demise, it'd be the rust setting in from all this humid warm wet weather. I'm hoping to try them undercover somehow next season to try slow down the rust, as they're just far too beautiful to give up on just yet.
